About us

The Gampo Abbey Monastic Society was established in order to:

• foster and support a Buddhist monastic community dedicated to the founding vision of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

• assist with and support the operation of a monastery to sustain this monastic community

• espouse, practice, and preserve the braided lineage of teachings Trungpa Rinpoche presented for the purpose of maintaining, training and educating Buddhist nuns, monks and laypersons.

Gampo Abbey Monastic Society is a Nova Scotia registered Not-for-Profit Society and Canadian Registered Charity.

Our Purpose and Vision

• To advance religion by establishing and maintaining a Buddhist monastery

• To advance religion by preaching the teachings, religious tenets, doctrines, and observances associated with Tibetan Buddhism

• To undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the above-mentioned charitable purposes
